_HISTORY:[insert space here]Suikoden Wiki[.] And since that is a little sparse, here is a more detailed history.

Oulan was born and raised in the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia, a nation that spread over a wide swath of the continent, annexing and conquering their way to power under the rule of Hikusaak, a man who went from a Hero to high priest, ruling the nation for over 500 years with absolute authority thanks to wielding one of the 27 True Runes that created the Earth. [Massive run-on sentence, needs to be broken up into 4-7 sentences] It was there that she began her training in martial arts, quickly mastering the God Hand style of fighting and joining the military to act as a bodyguard.

It didn't take her long to realize that the actions of the aristocracy of Harmonia and her ideals didn't match up, leading her to leave the army and the country at the age of 20. The next 7 years she spent travelling the world, building a reputation as someone who stood up for people, protecting both those who would hire her and those who she decided she just wanted to help. Those who had the money would pay and those who needed help but couldn't pay for a bodyguard? She helped them for free, making it so she began to receive letters from all different places around the Northern Continent which eventually led her to the town of Kuskus in the City States of Jowston where a group of thugs had been harassing women for a while.

It was here that her life changed again, going from a woman roving the world to one who had a leader to protect. A [replace with "to protect: a young"] young boy who stood up for the women in Kuskus. Apparently he had also heard of the thugs in town and had decided to do something about it. And he lost, losing a fight that she came in and finished, helping him and the women he was with finally end the groups harassment and instantly earning her trust. [Awkwardly worded, would reword/simplify this] Her first reaction when he said he was part of the army that was standing up to the Highland Kingdom's Invasion was to offer him her services, free of charge, until the war was done.

And so she did, she joined his army and worked as a bodyguard until the war[']s end leading to the founding of the Dunan Republic. Highland, as well as most of the City States that had been crushed by the invading Highland forces[,] were united into a democracy and Oulan was named captain of the guard. Allowing [This allowed] her to create a military force dedicated to her ideals. [Would just reiterate her ideals here, something like "dedicated to her ideals: helping the weak and preserving justice" or whatever her ideals are.]

Once that was established she headed out on the road once more. First as the bodyguard of Sheena, the son of President Lepant of the Toran republic[,] in escorting him back to her homeland of Harmonia for him to learn from the Scholars of Crystal Valley[.] where [There] she punched the shit out of a dragon in order to help her friends Futch and Humphrey save Futche[']s baby dragon Bright.

_ABILITIES: Oulan is an incredibly skilled martial artist and master of the God Hand fighting style who has honed her body into perfect shape. She's incredibly strong in ways that make her a finely honed weapon even if she didn't have the abilities afforded to her by the two runes in her hands which drastically augment her strength.

Left Hand: Angry Dragon Rune - Allows her to manipulate the energy in her body, focus heat and you can wear a t-shirt comfortably on a -30 degree day, focus that on your hand and suddenly your fists are made of fire and ice. [Awkwardly worded, would split into 2-3 sentences. Something like "Allows her to manipulate the energy in her body. If she focuses on heat she can wear a t-shit comfortably on a -30 degree day. If she focuses on her hand instead? Suddenly her fists are made of fire and ice."] Giant gash, internal bleeding, [no matter the wound] she can shift her body to heal the damage at a drastically increased rate. [List any specific limits for this healing here. How much can she heal before she can't heal anymore, can she heal back from near death, etc] When fully active the back of her hand will light up looking like a glowing tattoo resembling a very stylistic flaming dragon. D [The d]ownside, is[:] it drains a lot of the energy from her body so she can only fully use it pretty sparingly.

Right hand: Fury Rune - The Fury Rune feeds on her anger to enhance the amount of energy coursing through her body. The angrier she gets, the stronger she gets. A truly infuriated Oulan is nearly bulletproof and could punch through a concrete wall with ease. Combine that with the Angry Dragon Rune and she can put a hole through steel and not have to worry about burning herself out. Downside,[:] she can lose herself in her R[r]age and needs someone there to help her calm down when she's fully overwhelmed.

_PERSONALITY: Oulan cares about nothing more than keeping people safe. She believes it's the duty of the strong to make everyone should feel safe and works as hard as she can to make it that way. Whether that means being there for a scared kid or beating on some dudebro harassing a girl at a bar[,] it's what she's dedicated her life to and she has zero tolerance for people who would prey on those that they feel are weaker than them. Her main motivation for joining the war she did was witnessing Riou, their leader [of the Dunan Army,] stand up to a bunch of shitty dudebros who had been harassing women in the city of Kuskus[.] and e[E]ven after she joined the army she began to pass the letters she received of people being harassed [in need of help] on to her leader so that her work could continue.

Her determination to follow her ideals really effects who she is and how she treats people. Towards people she's helping of her own will she's warm and affectionate, doing everything she can to make them feel the safest she possibly can. She's similar with the people she trusts with a bit of added snarkyness and a decent enough sense of humor. With people she doesn't trust yet, she's constantly serious, stern, and quick to anger. She also finds it much easier to trust women than she does men. [List here why she trusts women more than men]

That's not to say she hates men, she's just slower to trust them until they prove themselves. Once they do, then congratulations,[:] she's going to treat you like she does all of her friends and stand by you through thick and thin. Until then though she has zero tolerance for bullshit and she usually reacts not with words[,] but with her fists. While her temper is normally quick, it's made even more so with the fact that she holds one of the few runes that can have an effect on the wielder[']s emotions,[.] p[P]rodding her anger[,] and using [the rune uses] it to fuel her strength leading her to be strong enough to straight knock out dragons or punch through a tank if she's angry enough. This, along with it being the name of her Rune[,] gave her the nickname of "Angry Dragon".

Once she's friends with you she's also really open and really doesn't hide much of anything. If she's upset, you'll know it, if she's happy, you'll know it. A lot of her interactions in the future [after my chosen canon point] with people like Nash show this[.] d[D]uring their planning on fighting off a dragon terrorizing a village and rescuing the partner of one of her friends [insert what she does. Is she very vocal about her emotions? Does she say clearly what's on her mind? What does she say?]. Her caring and worry is clear to those around her [in] that she's very willing to sacrifice herself to help a friend by punching a pissed off dragon in the face.

She's a lesbian, regularly taking pleasure in some of the women who were [are] part of the army, eventually having a very intimate thing [affair] with a horribly bitchy unpleasant archaeologist named Lorelai. [Insert here what she likes about Lorelai and what their relationship is like.] The army's investigator just wondered why she had a fan club that was made entirely of women; I think he might be a little oblivious.

As a final thing, she's always going to do her job and put the lives of others before her own. In one battle after her unit was routed she stayed behind until most everyone was able to escape safely. No unit in the army had fewer casualties than her [own]. Her life's mission was [is] to keep people safe and alive and she always stayed back [endangers herself] to make sure as many as possible could escape [come out of encounters in one piece].
